Saturday morning Plain Sailing is the place for more competent sailors, at RYA level 2 and beyond. We also run Saturday Coached Racing sessions aimed at our regular racers.
For a more intensive approach, and for those who would like to get RYA certifications, we run 2 day weekend and 5 day weekday RYA level 1&2 courses. These are not included in the membership fee, but there is a discount for members.

Thursday Evening Tasters (non-members)
Thursday evening tasters run from April to August and pre-booking is essential via: Welsh Harp Sailing Club: Adults: Learn to sail
- prior experience: none needed
- open to: non-members (up to 2 sessions)
These sessions provide a relaxed opportunity for non-members to get out on the water in the same boat as an instructor. Whether you are new to sailing, have had your first taste on holiday or are returning to it after a break, this is the session for you. Sessions last approximately 45 minutes and there are typically 2 trainees in the boat with one instructor. After your sail, join us in the clubhouse for a reasonably priced wholesome meal. The bar will be open and there will be plenty of people willing to answer your questions so that you can get a sense of what the club is about.

- Focus: Getting you to a level where you can be Checked Out to Windsurf on your own.
Junior Participation
We are happy to welcome juniors aged 16 and above to our training sessions. However, please note:
- We do not Instruct Juniors under 16 years.
- Under 16s must have windsurfing experience and will only be considered at the discretion of a Senior Instructor. To discuss this further please email windsurfing@welshharpsailingclub.org
RYA Courses and Clinics for Members
We occasionally offer RYA-certified courses and special clinics at additional cost. Depending on demand and instructor availability, these will be scheduled on weekends.
How to Get Involved
We offer two Taster sessions to non-members to try out the Club, the Tasters run alongside the Thursday evening Training sessions and need to be Booked in advance.
The Member’s Training sessions are not booked. Turn up as often as you like and introduce yourself to the Senior Instructor on duty, who will guide you with appropriate training and allocate your kit. Beginners should aim to attend their 3rd and 4th sessions directly after the Tasters since each session builds on the previous one.
