DINGHY TRAINING & LASER COACHING
We offer a variety of dingy training options to suit your level and your time constraints. For beginners we run regular sessions on Thursday evenings. Non-members are welcome to attend up to two Thursday session tasters before joining as members (see below).
Saturday morning Plain Sailing is the place for more competent sailors, at RYA level 2 and beyond. We also run Saturday Coached Racing sessions aimed at our regular racers.
For a more intensive approach, and for those who would like to get RYA certifications, we run 2 day weekend and 5 day weekday RYA level 1&2 courses. These are not included in the membership fee, but there is a discount for members.

Thursday Evening Tasters (non-members)
Thursday evening tasters run from April to August and pre-booking is essential via: Welsh Harp Sailing Club: Adults: Learn to sail
- prior experience: none needed
- open to: non-members (up to 2 sessions)
These sessions provide a relaxed opportunity for non-members to get out on the water in the same boat as an instructor. Whether you are new to sailing, have had your first taste on holiday or are returning to it after a break, this is the session for you. Sessions last approximately 45 minutes and there are typically 2 trainees in the boat with one instructor. After your sail, join us in the clubhouse for a reasonably priced wholesome meal. The bar will be open and there will be plenty of people willing to answer your questions so that you can get a sense of what the club is about.

INSTRUCTORS, POWER BOAT, SAFETY BOAT & FIRST AID
We are a club entirely run by volunteers and we support and encourage all our members to get as much training as they can in these areas. If you are interested in becoming an RYA recognised instructor or benefitting from the subsidised RYA power boat level 2, RYA safety boat and RYA first aid courses provided by our friends on The Harp please contact Advanced Thursday Training
WINDSURFING
Windsurfing on the Welsh Harp is run by a welcoming team of friendly and enthusiastic volunteer member RYA instructors and helpers.
We offer free Training sessions to members on Thursday evenings from 6 pm until sunset, usually starting mid-May to the end of August. This training is primarily aimed at getting members to a suitable standard so they can be checked out to use club equipment outside of organised sessions. To progress further we offer RYA courses and clinics at extra cost. These will be run occasionally at weekends subject to demand and instructor availability The Thursday evening Windsurfing Training and Taster sessions are open to Adults and Juniors aged from 16 years who can windsurf with a parent/guardian. The Windsurfing Team do not Instruct Juniors under 16 years. Attendance of Juniors under 16 years with windsurfing experience will be considered at the discretion of a Senior Instructor and they must have a Windsurfing parent or guardian with them at all times and themselves be able to windsurf already. To discuss this further please email windsurfing@welshharpsailingclub.org.
Further information about Windsurfing at the Club is on the Windsurfing page.
