Saturday Racing: Tea Duty
Tea Duty is a very simple duty that does not require you to miss racing.
The first rule of tea duty: TEA DUTY SHOULD NEVER INTERFERE WITH YOUR RACING!
- Preparation - Bring:
- Milk (4 pint bottle)
- Cakes and biscuits for about 50 people (fewer on days such as bank holiday weekends – you can check the race results to see how many people to expect. Don’t forget the OOD, safety boat drivers and assistants! Normally about 6 persons.)
- Put the milk in the fridge.
- Before racing:
- Fill the urn and switch it on.
- Put out mugs, sugar, teabags, coffee (instant), teaspoons & money bowl.
- Put a note asking whoever is off the water first, to start tea.
- We charge 50p for tea and a slice of cake/biscuit.
- After racing:
- Turn the urn off, clear up, load and switch on the dishwasher.
- Take your costs from the money collected and put the balance in the bar (ask someone to fill in the bar book)
Thank you!
Note: You don’t need to bring homemade cakes – shop ones are perfectly sufficient
