CADET RACING FLEET
From beginner to aspiring Olympian, the Cadet is the worlds’ most successful two person training dinghy, specifically tailored towards children and young people. Cadets are sailed in over 40 countries around the world. The major advantage the Cadet has over any other youth dinghy is the unique relationship of the young crew and the older, more competent Helm; the more experienced Helms (13yrs to 17yrs old) pass on their own knowledge to their Crew (sometimes as young as 8yrs old. There is a lot of opportunity to travel as part of the UK National Cadet Class and take part in training and regattas organised by them and by the RYA.
Training at Welsh harp
The Cadets at Welsh harp train every Saturday morning throughout the year. We aim to develop our young sailors, encouraging participation in our cadet racing fleet at Welsh harp. The squad is run entirely by volunteers, sailors parents and instructors from Welsh harp sailing club
