Race Report - Tue 8 Apr
A calm force 1 (gusting 2) consistent westerly wind heralded a pleasant single race this Tuesday.
There were seven GP14 dinghy at the start line (no Lasers this evening).
The initial beat to No 1 mark was followed by a zig-zag downwind to give everyone the chance to practice spinnaker gybes ! (course was 1-2-3-4-5-6).
Lesley Kaye took an early lead, with the rest of the pack bunched together in close pursuit.
At the leeward leg, Peter Law was able to get past the bunch, and took the lead at the end of the first lap, followed by Lesley and Andy Wadsworth.
The second lap was a close battle, with a final beat back to No.1 to finish.
Peter Law was leading as he approached the final mark. A couple of key tacks, and a wind-shift, and Lesley Kaye was able to cross the line ahead.
