Friday 16th May to Sunday 31st May.
To get down to the vicinity a quickly as possible, stopping at a port in Cornwall before crossing to the Isles then spend some time on and around the islands, enjoy the country and relax before cruising leisurely back up the Channel stopping at a number of locations along the South Western coast. The trip is timed to get good weather but miss the school holidays and, therefore, avoid the great holiday crush. This should enable us to get a mooring in St Mary's Pool, for example, without too much difficulty.
Whilst there in St Martin's, it is imperative that we try "this fantastic fish and chip restaurant. The fish was freshly caught and the chips were home made by locally grown potatoes." For further information on the Isles click HERE and for Information on cruising there, click HERE. The 'Shell Channel Pilot' book is a great source of sailing information too.
Passage planning exercise.
For anyone who has been studying for their Yacht-master theory, here is a chance to put some of it into practice. There will be sessions in the Club House leading up to the trip.
Places to visit include: Penzance, St Michael's Mount, Helford River, Falmouth, Plymouth and the Jurassic coast amongst many others.
